Respect The Craft

Been working on the resurrection of this site, pulling together source material and refocusing on the business and came across an example of what I believe is the foundation of all good things:

THE WORK:

If you don’t know who Brian Michael Cox is, do yourself a favor and research the name.  He’s at the top of the game in R&B with the skills to back up the status.  Not only that, but he’s giving to the community in a serious way by producing articles, blog posts, and videos that give a glimpse into what it takes to reach that level and how it works when you get there.

You don’t stay in the top tier and work with the people he’s working with without being professional, going hard, and respecting the craft.

When’s the last time you practiced your instrument?

Submit Beats To Dip Set

Found this over at King of all Beats dot com:

The founding member of The Diplomats aka Dip Set, is looking for some new instrumentals for his arsenal.  Send your beats to Freeky Zeekey by emailing:

730beats@gmail.com

Looks like King of all Beats is posting the same type of opportunities we’re posting but focused more signed acts with bigger names where we’ll post the unsigned as well.  Depending on your goals and business plan, you might want to follow that site for opportunities we miss.

Survey Says! More Opportunites to submit beats!

We’ve been running a survey on the site.  Here are the results, in order, and what we plan to do with the data:

  1. More opportunities to submit beats
  2. More articles on industry topics like how to earn royalties
  3. Interviews with industry insiders
  4. Interviews with up and coming producers

The topic that will get limited coverage is Conferences/Industry Events.

The topic that gets dropped for good is Beat Battles.

We’ve got a long overdue site redesign in the works and a few interviews to kick off a new era for The Beat Business.com.

What do you think?!?!  Let us know!  This site is here for the community of beatmakers so speak up and get you need from the site!

Submit Beats to DJ Rockstar for upcoming mixtape projects

OK people.  No front – I pulled directly from FutureProducers.com because if you didn’t see it there, you need to see it here.  AND if you’re not a member at Future Producers, this an example of what you’re missing out on.  Go check them out for one of the webs most active producer forums.

Whats good FP??

I was appointed by DJ Rockstar get gather the hottest beats from the producers I know to submit to mixtape projects he’s workin on.

If you don’t know DJ Rockstar and DJ Ill Will, they are one of the hottest DJs out right now. They’ve dropped exclusive mixtapes with Drake, Trey Songz, Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Gudda Gudda, Yung Berg, Ya Boy, and more. They run the site Hotnewhiphop.com, which gets on average 350,000 unique visitors a month.

He’s working on a bunch of new mixtapes and album projects and needs beats. These songs are PROMOTIONAL only, so there is no money involved. However, this could be a good look if you are trying to boost the discography with some big name artists.

Please send beats to beats4djrockstar@gmail.com . Please name the MP3s: “Producer Name – Trackname.mp3″ That way we can keep track of who produced what. ATTACH YOUR BEATS. You can tag your beats to promote your name, but just do it once in the beginning please. Multiple tagged beats will not be sent.

I will be personally going through them in a week (3/12) and sending him a Zip of the hottest ones.

He’s looking for Rap/Rap-Pop/R&B style beats. Send your hottest. No straight pop music. Please don’t send me VST arp synthy chorded beats with 808 drums. I don’t wanna have to kill myself. I wanna hear unique bangers, interesting sounds, hard drums. For Pop/Rap give me something new.

People that know me know I’m not a beatjacker, just tryin to help out my fellow producers. If you don’t wanna send beats, then just dont.

Nefarious will post your beats on his site

Came across the kid Nefarious hustling beats on my travels around the internet and he sells beats (nice ones) but he’s also looking to share the love and post other producers beats on his site.  Far as I can tell this is just to build within the community.  You can get your beats up there and tap into people checking his site.  Nothing wrong with that.

Send beats to Nefarious
